Amazon Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards female warehouse colleagues

In 2020, during the ongoing pandemic, we wrote about the Amazon Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards. This year, the event’s Awards Ceremony is scheduled for 30th June in London and not impacted by the restrictions that were in place over the last two years.

The ceremony is all about ‘celebrating the women keeping the country moving’. Nominations closed some time ago and judging took place in April and the finalists were announced this month. There are now ten distinct categories.

Women in logistics

Although it is fantastic to celebrate, there’s still a gender imbalance. Globally, only 2% of workers in logistics were female. In the UK, things are much better reflected where 19% of workers in transport and storage were female. However, there are only less than 1% women represented in the HGV drivers’ figures. On the positive side, warehouse workers have a figure of 34%. For the full article, visit crooton Where are women in logistics? A look at the industry’s gender balance.
